Chef Sean teaching school kids how to cook!
Sean McGaughey, executive chef, was born and raised in Colorado.  He came to Denver in 2003 to attend Johnson & Wales University. During culinary school he worked at Green Gables Country Club, and upon graduating, moved to Frisco and Breckenridge and cooked at Samplings Wine Bar and The Cellar.  He wanted to explore the world outside of Colorado and moved to Cannes, France, for three months, where he worked at The American Pavilion, a high-end snack bar erected for the prestigious Film Festival. In his off time, he would stage at one-and two-star restaurants.  Returning to Denver, McGaughey found his way to Opus in February 2006. Starting as a line cook, his talent was undeniable, and he quickly was promoted to Chef de Cuisine just six months later. In late 2010 the executive chef position opened and he seamlessly stepped up to the plate. The 27 year old Sean is engaged to be married, and his fiancé is also in the business.
